Christina: The Story Behind the Brand

Have you ever listened to a violin and felt it carry more than just music—something like a story, a memory, a love that spans generations? That’s the soul of every Christina Violin.

For over 150 years, this iconic Italian brand has been built not on factories or mass production, but on a timeless love story that began in 18th-century France.

It all started with Antonio, a talented young Italian violin maker, and Christina, the daughter of a French noble count. The two fell in love at first sight at a ball, bound by their shared passion for music. Despite the upheaval of the French Revolution and family opposition, they built a life together in the quiet, music-rich town of Milly-la-Forêt, where Antonio honed his craft.

To honor his love, Antonio crafted a violin for Christina every 5 years, each engraved with the words “Christina lovin” — “Christina, I love you forever.” By the time Christina passed away, he had made 12 such violins, each a masterpiece of his craft. Grief-stricken, Antonio donated all 12 violins to a local music shop, hoping their beautiful sound would continue to touch lives, before returning to Italy with his son.

Decades later, a young violinist discovered one of these violins in a Paris shop, captivated by its breathtaking tone. Tracing the engraving, he traveled to Italy to find the elderly Antonio, reawakening the master’s love for his craft. Antonio and his son picked up their tools once more, and the younger Antonio, honoring his mother’s name, officially founded the Christina Violin brand in 1868.

Today, that same love and dedication lives in every Christina Violin. Crafted by the Antonio family’s descendants, following the exact same Italian Cremonese craftsmanship, each instrument is a work of art—blending elegance, nobility, and timeless sound. With a presence in 23 countries and over 35 million loyal customers worldwide, Christina remains true to its founding promise: to craft violins that carry the warmth of love, for musicians of all ages and levels.

We are thrilled to bring this legacy to China,America,Singapore,Perth, Western Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and so on and so forth.  and share the magic of Christina Violins with local families, students, and musicians.
